firstly thanks for putting together the brilliant Blues course,
have tried other on-line courses and yours is the easiest to follow by farjust a quick question why do the pentatonic scales you are teaching appear to differ from the others on the internet
for example pos 2, you show to have only 5 notes yet others labelled Position 2 minor Pentatonic scale show notes all across the fretboard and contain more than 5 notes
i know that penta means 5 but this is slightly confusing me
is it because as you comment you learn what you need to and within this coussre at least at the moment we do not need the extra notes for the licks you are teaching etchave downloaded other tablature for the Minor Pentatonic scale in a effort to learn them, take it they may be useful at some point in the future
anyways thanks again for the course and please keep up making brilliant lessons -

Great question. So pattern 2, you’re correct I only show 5 notes. I could add many other notes to pattern 2, but they aren’t really necessary because those notes will be covered in other patterns… Most blues solos (played within pattern 2) are only using a combination of those 5 notes. You can play an entire 3 or 4 minute solo with those 5 notes – in fact, that might be an awesome lesson to cover 🙂 I purposefully didn’t want to overwhelm people by showing other notes that you could play within pattern 2 because to be honest, I never use them.. so I figure I’ll show exactly what I know and my way of approaching the neck when playing a solo. Hope that makes sense

yeah that make perfect sense, and less to learn at this particular moment in time
thanks for the fast reply and cheers again for a brilliant course
