I just paid for a year. Big mistake. I did some of the beginner lessons and I tried to follow the basic strumming and the video does not show where the cord changes are so I cant look ahead and see when the next cord change is coming. thusly I am always behind the track and totaly lost.

Brian has a 100% no questions asked money back guarantee.
If you choose that root you will be missing out on learning from one of the best
teachers on the web.If you truly want to learn how to play the guitar instead of following the bouncy ball
approach you’ll stick around. But don’t say it was a big mistake. If you’re not satisfied Brian will refund your money
so nothing is lost.Maybe justinguitar.com would suit your liking. He has a great beginner course. Just updated the
whole whole thing and has one of those apps that shows you the chords so you can follow along. -

It sounds like you are more of a beginner than most of us were. I would say most of us had strummed a guitar a bit during our teens and early twenties, then life got in the way and we gave it up. Then as we got older, we had more spare time and picked up a guitar again. At that point, I learned by looking at the lesson tabs, which you can download. I’ve been a member for 6 years, and I’ve never tried playing along with the video, and very seldom even using the SoundSlice, which many other people like. But at this stage, I would suggest that your best option may be to find a guitar teacher and take some one-on-one lessons.

To be honest I was in the same boat at first I am about 6 months with Brian’s teaching and with only 1 year behind me learning from you tube .
I felt really out of my depth, but with nowhere else to go a private teacher for me was out of the question too expensive for me ,other priorities took first place . Anyway I stuck with It very slowly I am starting to get the hang of it . And enjoying the challenge if you want to learn the blues style there is no better place to start .
The way I see it no matter where you go it’s going to be hard ( a bitter sweet challenge ) if you get my meaning . Io each to their own this was my experience anyway , good luck where ever you go

The beginners course walks you through every aspect of learning to play guitar, from the parts of a guitar to holding a pick to your first chords and so on.. if you cant follow maybe you are jumping ahead before you are ready, we only get out of guitar what we put in.

Most lessons have a tab in PDF format. Download it. That tells you where the chord changes take place.
Additionally, most lessons also have what I call a live tab, which “plays” as Brian plays. You can see the chord changes there too.
But perhaps Active Melody is not your cup of tea. In that case, I think you can contact support (Brian) and he will give you a refund.
Make no mistake, though. Brian’s lessons are excellent because he not only teaches you to play music, but gives you detailed explanations of what you are doing. My favourite lessons are self accompanied pieces.
Good luck in your journey.

William
first weeks or months of guitar learning are the most painfull.
learning chords is a necessary path.
however, you can alternate learning chords and on same time, little soloing with simple lesson like EP219, EP380.
by learning both in same time you can alternate the painfull mandatory path (chords) and the more creative one (soloing).
both complete each other.Where does the white go when snow melts?

I Found when I started was way a bit lost too but taking the lessons on the five pentatonic positions First over and over plus Brian’s constant lessons I find some stuff is starting to sink in. To me it’s a lot more fun then trying to figure out some video game
