I was actually planning to post a classical Renaissance piece, but that’s going to take a while because it’s harder than I first thought.
Instead, in keeping with my favorite hobby, here’s another Beatles cover. “Girl” isn’t really hard to play with its simple chords, except that it gets a bit cramped for the fingers with the capo on the 8th fret. I think the sound has a sort of Greek feel to it, partly because of the 12-string guitar’s melodic entry at the end.
George Harrison had borrowed Lennon’s Framus guitar for this track. The entire simple melody only came to him in the last two days before the recording session.
John counted “Girl” among his favorite songs.

Nicely done, Dieter. That’s a nice simple song to have in a repertoire.
I can just hear Helen doing this with brother Mike and friends on Bouzouki.

That was a very nice production all around Dieter.

Very cool, Dieter. Impressive how you played all the parts and achieved such a full sound all on your own. And it sounds great. Could have been the actual Beetles playing all the parts for all could tell.
Super!

Haven’t heard that song in a long time. You pulled off a great rendition of it.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

One of my favorites from “Rubber Soul”. Nice work on the 12 string. I never knew the rhythm chords were capo’ed up so high. Great job, Dieter.

Playing them part in perfect timing, Well done.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Great cover, Dieter, and learning thanks to your performance how the original was played (8th fret capo on the main guitar, 12 string guitar for the small soloing part and so long) is very interesting!

Well done Dieter… love the tune, you cover it nicely. Your bass helps create a fuller, richer bottom end!
