        Hi dear AM fellows,

30 seconds, here you go. My hook is actually only 15 seconds long, I just took the liberty to repeat it so you can’t get it out of your head any more. It’s really just a combiation of I-IV-V, but it was the first thing that came to my mind and for once I thought I’d stick to my first idea. I played around with it, adding instruments (shaker, bass, synth) and I nearly finished a whole song on the basis of this minimalistic idea. Great challenge idea from Brian, I think!

I am thrilled to watch your hooks now! (Thanks for watching mine)

Hi Trem, that had a definite direction, repeated melodic and rhythmic elements, and left me wanting to hear where it goes. Nice!

Nice one, Trem! It’s a hook. Keep that one handy, because I’m sure you can build on it and turn it into a great piece of music.

You kept it very simple and this will allow you to take it in many possible directions.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

That SG sounds awesome, Trem! I loved how it growls at the end.

Great Hook. Creative sounding. Reminds me of a band like Yes or Pink Floyd getting ready to rip it it!

That‘s the kind of hook, that must be repeated, Kevin. So you did it just right.
Listening to it definitely makes you curious to hear the whole song!

The simple Ideas are often the best. I really like this as it could go anywhere depending on what other layers you add. Like the variation of using a slide then a bend to start too. Nice one

All right, Trem. That’s a great idea for a hook. I’m just picturing a rhythm section backing it up, and then you’ve got a hit.

Ah yes, a perfect hook, Kevin, one that can be repeated over and over – and one that makes the song instantly recognizable. If we have to elaborate on our hooks next month, you’ll be ahead of the game already 🙂

Definitely achieved the objective of a ‘Hook’ that grabs your ear and now I can’t get it out my head.
