April 2026 Challenge Response – Guido

This month challenge was a real… challenge for me!

Tried countless riffs and licks on my guitar and nothing satisfied me.

Three days ago I decided eventually to layer down a simple drums rock ballad track with EZDrums, played the first chord progression that popped into my head over it, added a bass track with EZBass and then recorded a very simple solo over the whole track.

Not sure it’s a hook, but it lasts 30 seconds flat 😅!

Pretty cool, Guido, nice arrangement. I’ve never tried EZDrums or EZBass, but it sounds like they work pretty well. Could be useful for buskers, I think.

Nothing like a looming deadline to stir the creative juices. It was the same for me.
But whatever the inspiration, it worked! Rousing chord progression with the drums and bass and that lead intro demands a song to burst forth. So must be a hook👍

Great intro/hook/motif, whatever you call it, Guido! The spontaneously put together track and solo at the 11th hour were the result of weeks’ long trials and experiments. It’s like a puzzle or a math problem you’re trying to solve all day, then take a long break, come back to it and solve it on the first try 🙂 Your hook was great, loved the outro, too.

EZDrums, EZBass …. what about EZGuitar? 😉
