Hi AMers
Earlier this month we were thrilled to spend some time with our Swiss AM friends, Denise and Alain, when they stopped by on their way to a holiday cottage in Wales, U.K. For those of you who’ve already seen Denise’s post, we were the first date on her whirlwind U.K. tour!
It was an opportunity for a jam that couldn’t be missed and so we’ve collaborated on an acoustic blues. We’re sure you will spot many references to AM lessons in here and given this month’s challenge its turned out to be remarkably on point!
We had a blast playing this together, despite needing a few takes 😅.
We hope you enjoy too.P.S. My apologies for the gap between recording and publishing, which was solely due to me also going on holiday straight after their visit.

Some people would guess that you guys have practicing that together for months. You sounded great, and I love the stereo separation you got with the two mics. It sounded like I was right in the room with you.

Now that’s what this site is all about friends. It’s the culmination of hard work and this is the payoff. Well put together with recorded mixing and well played all around. Couldn’t be more proud of my fellow AM’ers.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

It’s been very exciting to first share our ideas on that collab and then to play and record it live in Andy’s house.
When we played it felt to me like we’d been guitar buddies for ages.Andy did a great job with the recording, mixing and editing the video and I really love the result.
Thanks for having us in your place and for the great time.
Hope to have you here next year in Switzerland… maybe with another collab in my music room!Denise

Such a great occasion Denise and Andy, and what a fabulous impromptu jam. To meet up with three of us during your visit to Wales was such a warm-hearted gesture and a great example of the friendly nature of the Active Melody membership.

How Wonderful!! You both played brilliantly with pace and style. Loved it all, big congratulations! We should have a challenge where we pair up and get together like this. Think Brian would cover the travel?

Now there’s an idea! An international jam challenge! Brian could right it off against tax I’m sure 😜. Mind you Denise at least deserves an “AM Ambassador T shirt” for her tour of UK AMers.
Many thanks for the kind words words too Michael

Many thanks everyone for watching and for all your generous comments.
This really was so much fun to put together, right from the start and deciding what to do, once we knew Denise was coming to the UK. all the way through to playing and recording together, which was extra special.
Its definitely encouraged me to get out and jam with others too. -

Just a classic polished and in sync blues jam.
Guys that sounded fantastic and came across like you had been playing together for years.
Isn’t it amazing that a platform like AM can bring together people from over the world together for in person visits and jams.
Hopefully we will see a reply jam in the future with Andy in Denise’s place.
