If anyone is interested setting up computer based recording, I’ve found a sales on Amplitude 5.

Typical price is $199, sale runs until March 31 for $50. There is also a free version that allows a ‘try before you buy’

The version that is on sale:

          Hey Keith,
That sounds like a deal. I have to get my lazy *#!^ recording again.
          Hope all is well,
          Mike

Now it’s down to $29 for Amplitube 5

            https://www.pluginboutique.com/products/12669-AmpliTube-5?currency=USD&force_country=US&srsltid=AfmBOor06amU-UL4d8MChGZMOhfJ-Txn9OmoasRd6uDTpQEVC7HsorbFt4M

I’m still on the lookout for any of the NDSP plugins to drop down in price, not yet though.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

That’s too good to pass up… Hope its not a ‘ if it sounds to good to be true to be true, it probably is’ situation

I tried the free download – 2 Fender amp models and it sounded pretty good. Still prefer playing thru an actual amp but with time, this could be tweaked to be a good alternative
Definitely have come to appreciate my Marshall Origin 20

Here is another deal for a low CPU load free amp sim that has no visual frills or anything fancy about it. Hurry before the free deal disappears. It’s called Amp Locker 98. Haven’t gone through it all yet, but so far it looks very usable.

                https://audioassault.mx/

It models 6 of the most widely used guitar amplifiers in recording and live performance, using advanced digital signal processing algorithms designed to run efficiently on Pentium-class hardware.
                ★ 4TH WALL BREAK! ★

This actually runs on modern day Windows, OSX & Linux!

Each amp has been modeled by EAR from MEMORY, using techniques necessary to get low CPU usage faithful to the era, while this plugin may be a joke, it can be useful to get demo ideas down quickly without even touching your cpu usage.

★ Uses so little CPU that you can set your interface to it’s minimum latency! ★

There is NO Convolution/IRs here either, just a cool little algorithm that approximates guitar cabs, including mic movement!

I have also added some annoying things that were common back then such as a non resizable plug-in window, no built in preset handler …etc

In fact…this plug-in even intentionally ignores retina/high DPI screens, oh the nostalgia!
                ★ END 4TH WALL BREAK! ★

Amp Locker 98 is currently completely free for a limited time.

It is compatible with any VST 1.0 host application including Cubase VST, Logic Audio, and Cakewalk Pro Audio. No registration or internet connection is required.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.
