        Good day to you all,

I hope you are all well.
The challenge was to play a lead using two chords as a backing. I tried making a backing track using several different chord combinations but couldn’t come up with anything that sounded as good as the backing for EP404, the Dicky Betts style lesson. I couldn’t think of any other lessons which used only two chords.
So the chords used are E and F#min – I hope you like it, here’s the link:

I’m looking forward to seeing all the other submissions,

        Mike

Great choice of that Dickey Betts backing track. You can vamp along these two chords all day.
                Very nice and chill improvisation.
                Well done.

Nice choice of track , the one and two chord allows for some sweet melodies as you so well demonstrated, I agree with the above comments , you gave this a very relaxed soulful
Feel with a lovely tone from your Eastman .

Great pick, Mike. A laid back melodic two chord tune. Your leads rolling by with the chords. Nicely done.

Mike, this immediately put me in a relaxed and positive mood. You’ve shown that just two chords can make sweet music. What a fine composition!

                              Great lesson choice,
And played nicely. I like what you are doing here Mike. I think you solved your recording issues from long ago. Your recordings are much more audible with improved tonal qualities. Great playing my friend.

Beautifully played, Mike! This was one of my favorite lessons but I like your playing over the lesson’s backing track, it had such a nice chill vibe to it, slightly reminiscent of the “Albatross”. Glad you found your way to this two-chord challenge 🙂

Interesting how we both selected a major 1 and it’s minor 2 chord. You sure did come up with a beautiful melodic solo. So nice and easy flowing, puts me in a great frame of mind.
