Great roots rock tune with Clarence Clemons on sax.
I could see that Clarence probably pushed Alvin to perform his best and needless to say, Alvin makes it look
so effortless.
Enjoy
Another great one. Alvin Lee is a very underrated musician – nice video by the way (even with the mullet), i hadn’t seen that. Have you heard Alvin Lee in Tennessee?
Interesting that you should ask about In Tennessee
I just downloaded it from Amazon yesterday (great deal for 8.99) and I’m listening to it now as I’m working a project.
If you have a chance, download his album called In Flight. Recorded in 1974, it was one of his 1st efforts away from Ten Years After and he did a lot of root rock on it. Amazing how much he could sound like Elvis.
Ten Years After Recorded Live has some amazing music on it as well
Wonder why you never heard of Alvin jamming back in the day with Clapton, Richards and the others from England?
That is killer. Clarence Clemens and Alvin Lee play so good together. Did you notice that Alvin’s licks sounded so 1950’s. He can play so fast and clean but his playing suited this song so good. I never really understood why Alvin Lee never reached the level so many others did. It didn’t matter if it was Ten Years After or Alvin on his own, the playing was always top notch.
