If playing in A maj pentatonic what notes would be targeted or landed on with the 4 chord since the 4th interval D note
is not part of the A maj scale. Thanks
The A major pentatonic scale composed of the notes A, B, C#, E, F#. The D major chord is D, F# and A, so the root of the scale and the 6th are chord tones of the D major.
The 4th or D (not in the A major pentatonic) is a great note to add and makes up the hexatonic scale used by the Dickie Betts. The major pentatonic with the added 4th is often called the Allman scale.
