Hi everyone & Happy New Year,
In the past when someone replied to a forum posting it copied over to your personal email account so you were able to view replies made to a forum posting that you had initiated. This was especially useful when it came time for member challenges as you saw all member responses to your posting and it was not unusual to see those responses a few days after your original posting.
Now, we no longer have that feature so it can become a time consuming exercise to go and find your original posting and see who may have responded to it. Depending on how active the AM site is at any one time you may find that your message drops off the main page very quickly and then you have to sift thru a list of other messages to go find yours and any replies that may have been posted. This is all compounded if you post a few messages and are looking for any replies to a few messages you may have posted.
Currently, the AM site only shows 8 forum messages at a time on the right hand side of the screen so if it drops off that list of 8 then you have to click on ” Latest forum posts ” ( new users please note ) to find your original message and then go try and find a members’ reply to your message.I’m not sure if I’m the only member that would like to see a better way of retrieving message replies but I’d be interested to hear if other members feel the same way I do or how they retrieve message replies quickly and easily.
Thanks,
Tim -

Thanks,
TimIs it not possible to favourite your own thread and access it via the “My Accounts” dropdown “Favourites” menu Tim?.

Another problem with finding replies is that it seems that EVERY forum section has a dozen or more pinned topics — it becomes quite tiring scrolling through all of those in order to hunt down actual active topics. Maybe all those pinned topics can be moved to their own graveyard… er… forum section?

Billy,
Ok, that’s one way perhaps to do it although the posting may not be technically a ‘ favorite ‘ so then you have to delete it from your favorites list once you have seen the replies.Tim

Tim,
I think maybe the email notification was an option. I never used it so if it is now gone, I wouldn’t know. But if you click on “My Account” at the top right of the screen, There is an item called Notifications. Any time someone responds to your post it will end up here. If you click on the notification it will take you to the thread.

I’m confused, haha. What’s new?
Tim are you saying we can no longer check the “Notify me of the follow-up replies via email” box??
That would suck.

BobBob, I think that is the best way. On my membership here on the forum, email notification doesn’t work, used to, but not now. There was an earlier post about that and I believe other members had the same problem with the email notifications.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

So now I’m really confused. -

Bob,
Thanks so much! That works. I never knew or tried this option so that will take care of it.
Appreciate it!

How do I know if everybody gets to read or reply to my posts or even presentations? lol..I guess only the Good Lord knows the truth! lol.. I recently notice more lagtime loading this website,, not sure if my ISP is capping my internet speed ..but I hope it is resolved soon or I need to file a complaint with the provider if this is the case .. As for finding the responses easier,, i just wait for only replies to my threads/FORUMS I check under my account,, like if I get no responds ..i just carry on and do my thing.. practice and learn to play! But I read you Tim, it takes a bit of time scrolling old forums under (my account) I review previous forum thier I been on..or check for notifications..I don’t see a whole bunch these days,, but that may be a good thing in that it frees up more time to practice rather than chat which I do enough anyway.lol..cheers!
