I don’t think this song is rare but I am looking for a detailed lesson on playing ‘lord I hope this day is good’ by Don Williams, I have looked on youtube to no avail, any idea’s anyone?

        Neil.

Neil, you could be the first landmark on youtube for this rare song ! I don’t know the song…but yes not every old favorite is on youtube especially some old favorite rock stars ..Martin Barre from Jethro Tull.. I might give one of his solos an intro to youtube, haven’t seen anybody do it! A favorite can go a long way if done good!

            Hi Neil,

Most of Don’s songs are fairly basic. You might be able to purchase the sheet music at a website like http://www.musicnotes.com
            and learn it without help.

I have used another website for country song lessons but even though they have three of Don Williams songs, they do not offer the song you are looking for.

Lastly, a really good thing to do, and you may have already tried this, is to purchase a program like http://www.songsurgeon.com and learn to play it by ear. It will take some time but learning it the old fashioned way (hearing it over and over) is still valuable. Even though Songsurgeon is more expensive then some of the other programs that slow and loop songs, I have found it very useful. (you can record with it as well as overdub) Another thing they just added is a chord finder. It will show you the chord that is being played while the song moves along. It is not perfect but works fairly well.

            Good luck.

            Jim
