Lights,Wilfried and everyone , yes that is what appears to be a stress crack but was preexisting (previous owner abuse not my doing) I bought this D35 used with it’s injuries but honestly , it appears worse than it actually is,, the guitar plays incredibly and is my favorite of my acoustics, eventually it may need attention but for several years it still looks the same and from my trained ear with years experience playing dozens of acoustics, the stress crack annoying as it is just cosmetic and after several years playing it, know it doesn’t compromise the tonality of this fine instrument. The action is outstanding and I like using Elixir 12s

John, that sounds good. I like the Elixir strings very well. Do you have Bronze or Phorphor Bronze? Your D35 is already a very valuable guitar with a great sound.
Maybe you give the guitar (sometime) a little beauty treatment?

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Hi John, I had on my D28CW 13s strings. I could not play. I do not have so strong fingers. It was brutally hard for me. But I think if you do not want to bend, you can master these strings.
I play on my Alvarez 10s and on my OMJM 11s.
It took me a long time to find the right strings, for me.
                I also have the Elixir.
However, I cannot always decide whether I would like to take Polyweb Phosphor or Nanoweb Phosphor Bonze.
The Nanoweb phosphor bronze was my favorite, as they sound a bit more brilliant. This is probably also so, but I tend to lately Polyweb Phosphor. The sound is slightly warmer.
These (Polyweb Phosphor 10s) I currently have on the Alvarez.
On the OMJM I still have the Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 11s.

Wifried thank you much,, agree with you,, and i will stick with 12s nanoweb elixirs as i found them in the middle and easy to bend.. i do have a set of nanoweb80/20 bronxe acoustic extra lights 10-47 i’ll be using for the small alverez AP70 .. but like the 12s on the Martin D35.. i tried 13s a few times and did not care for them either for bending. ty again for sharing!
