I didn’t have time to work on this month’s Challenge (Away in Manger) because I’m working on other lessons. Anyway, here’s acoustic and electric versions of Brian’s Silent Night after a little more practice since recently submitted.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Active Melody peoples!

Larry that was lovely man, the song/tune is just so made for the guitar.. I am not a Christmas type person, but I promise I am going to learn this one for next Christmas.
Merry Christmas Larry.

You can’t play this any better than You just did, Larry. Excellent, on both guitars. This is definitely on my list for next Christmas.

Larry, I do not know which version I find better. Both have something very special, something special. The Strat has a great sound and is very nice to play. The acoustic guitar has in comparison so a simple sound, which I find so special. Maybe the acoustic guitar is a little ahead. You played both versions very nicely.
Merry Christmas.Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

I agree with Wilfried almost completely but I liked that electric tone. Thanks, Larry and Merry Christmas and a great 2017.

Great job on both, Larry. Love the tone of your Strat but I think I’m gonna lean toward the acoustic version. This song really lends itself so well to the acoustic and you did it great justice, especially the ending.

Thanks, everyone. Brian’s original lesson was with the Strat, so I thought it would be interesting to try that electric guitar, and compare it to the acoustic parlor–both by the same player. Happy New Year and new picking in 2017!

Sounded to me like you were more comfortable with the slides and fills on the Strat, so I liked it better. Both versions were really solid and very well done, played with feeling and sensitivity.
