You know, I have no idea what make these speakers are. I have used these for possibly 15 or so years now, infact they are that old they are made of wood and not modern plastic, I have often wondered if it was possible to play my PC through a guitar amp…Hmmm..possibly the cd/emulated line out could be the jack we need to try this out…

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can go with active studio monitors that will be much better than any desktop PC speaker set.
If you go to desktop monitors, you might also want to go with an audio interface to help better control the volumeI had a pair of JBL book shelf speakers and I found a stereo PA amp on Ebay on closeout so I put that combo together and it sounds really good

Think I’ll buy a pair of Bose bookshelf cubes on amazon or ebay for around 100.00 but thinking sub woofer too? Bose cubes should be good enough for me.. pretty certain this desk top isn’t Bluetooth compatible so wireless probably not an option. Thanks for the replies!

i just ordered Cyber Acoustics Powered Computer Speakers for Multimedia PCs, Gaming Systems, and Laptops (CA-3602FFP),i used my card gift points and discount total was 18.00 in change, good deal, because I’ll be able to set the sub woofer in my tv cabinet. This audio upgrade should be a big improvement for sound quality for PC audio internet lessons/jamtracks and also my Samsung TV!

5″ studio monitors will blow away any computer speakers. After 2 years, I finally did the upgrade and my music room sounds 100% better. You have to hear it to believe it.

Steve, which brand 5 inch you upgraded to? I just ordered these for my desktop computer.. have been using tiny 2 watt 10.00 puter speakers for years lol.. i figure time to shop for upgrade,, was going to just buy bose shelf speakers but at amazon with gift points and being prime member for 30 day free returns no strings tied..i can send these right back or exchange for something you say is much better!.. I am not into pop song rap sub bass woofer music but i figure if I’m going to push my 15watt tube amps.. I need to accommodate that with decent audio system off the internet. tia, John and Merry XMAS!

So you know, right now i am just a beginner and not sure but maybe something like these are what you mean? KRK RP5G3-NA Rokit 5 Generation 3 Powered Studio Monitor.. but yeah my room small. not sure what else is needed like amplification etc… i do know the cheap 18 dollar deal i just purchased can only benefit and certain it is a big upgrade to what i ‘m using now.. perhaps I’ll keep this 3 piece pc cyber speaker set.. and down the road upgrade to 5 inch like the one above? I just ain’t sure how much i need for the room i’m in now.

Keep in mind that while your new speakers are an upgrade at this time, the advantage that studio monitors give you is clarity and detail. This will become a necessity when you begin transcribing and you are wanting to determine what Guitar Player A is doing as opposed to Guitar Player B. Studio monitors with a good interface will help you in being able to determine this
In my case, using JBL bookshelf speakers with an amp, coming thru an EQ and playing the mp3 file with Riffstation allows me a lot of control to be able to hear the fine details of what is going on in the mix
This is something that you can research for the future and then buy what works best for your application and needs

Agreewith you and what Steve said about the monitor speakers.. Wish I NEVER GAVE AWAY MY SONY STACK STEROA AMP AWAY WITH FLOOR SPEAKERS ..anyway, these little puter speakers are pretty amazing for what they are and certainly satisfied for the less than 27.00 i paid with amzn visa points rewards.. a definite upgrade from what I had,, i will eventually get monitor 5 or 6 in and did the research already.. many good deals out there and they are pretty inexpensive but where i live I’m in no rush and very content with these ones i posted about..likely get them monitor and amp stereo set in a garage sale really cheap down the road! cheers!

One thought that occurred to me to throw in the mix
As you are looking at monitors, most will have balanced inputs that will be labeled as either XLR or TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) connections
Connections of this type will carry double the signal that a standard stereo cable does. When you buy monitors, you should also get an audio interface that has balanced outputs and get the proper cables. By doing this, you will ensure that you are getting the best performance from your monitors that they can deliver. Whether you are mixing or transcribing, the difference will help you
