hope this helpsThat’s partially true. It tells you the chord but will not show what voicing of the chord the notes are coming from. It might show you a basic G chord, but the notes are coming from a G chord that you would make elsewhere on the neck.
It does not give you any notes, it’s simply slows down a piece so you can better learn it by ear. More of an alternative to tabs. The software I use is called Transcribe. It is way less bloated, much simpler to use and much cheaper. It won’t show you the chord, but like I said, the chord feature in riff station is pretty much worthless. With Transcribe, you load in your track, mp3 or whatever, and you can slow it down as much as you like. Also, unlike riff station, when you slow a track down it doesn’t get all garbled but stays clear so you can hear the notes more crisply. I have found that if I can find a rough tab version of a song and then load the track into Transcribe, I learn a piece much faster.

For $35 it’s gotta be worth looking at I would think.
also I am going to look at transcribe.
This all came about co’s I am trying to learn the notes on the fretboard so that I can find where is easiest for me to put a song so my fingers don’t have to stretch so far, I have abandoned 2 songs so far co’s my fingers couldn’t comfortably cover the required frets.
thanks for the info guys!
Neil.
