I have been working on this on and off for almost a year. A real challenge. I thought I must be at the point where I could post something and did about 10 takes today. What a workout. By process of elimination, I was left with this :55 second go. Needs some work but I needed something to show for my efforts. The brisk pace makes it rather arduous to play. Love playing my acoustics. If Hope you like.

I absolutely love that style, one style that got me into playing was the boogie woogie, nice job!

That was sweet John. Reminded me of Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen (originally by Charlie Ryan).

There’s some mighty fine flat-pickin’ happening here! Sounds terrific on that gorgeous Martin. Always impressive to see your skill, John. Well played, as always.

Yes, music often involves a lot of work. Your piece was well worth the effort—the musicality, tempo, and playing technique are wonderful. Great performance.

Wow John. Fingers are flying, it’s almost speeding ticket time! 😉 Love the Boogie Woogie and yours sounded great on your acoustic. Keep on Rockin’. All the best! 😎🎸😎

Nice work, John. I agree, Brian’s Boogie Woogie lessons are among the most challenging in the whole catalogue.

Great fingerwork and steady groove on that Boogie. I also like these 6 and 9 jump chords.
I am currently working on one of Brian’s fastest lesson EP515 Country Rock! It’s much fun and good for speed practice.

Hope all is well in your world.

That is pretty speedy John and it looks hard to play. As usual, you did an excellent job with this one.

There are some things that just take a ton of practice to get down and this is most certainly one of those 😎

Excellent execution John. I also try to increase, my picking speed, so I have an idea of how difficult this was. Again, great playing!

The actual recording sounds a bit ‘warbly or under water’. Me thinks I am going to slow it down a bit and rerecord using a microphone. Thanks for the kind remarks.

Wow, that was super fast and amazingly accurate picking, John! You’re one of few here to be able to do that Working on speed flat picking must feel very rewarding and I can tell you’re at least satisfied with your progress. It’s a great idea to keep track of your progress by recording and sharing. It is motivating to watch you work on your skills that way and a reminder that there’s always something to learn or improve on.
