I’m just trying out my Zoom H1 in different environments. So far, so good. Giving a clap or two really helps when syncing the audio and video clips. It was super easy having two sharp audio peaks to match up.

Great music in a natural paradise – what more could you want?

There ought to be some clapping at the end too! 😉

I hear there are no venomous snakes in New Zealand.
Great project, Steve. How close to you is the mic? Can it only be attached to the camera?

There are no snakes or any other horrible biting creatures on land in NZ. We do have narcissistic politicians and conspiracy theorists though, like any other country. Maybe not so many as most.

I laid the mic on the ground next to me, about an arm’s length away. Even two arm’s lengths works, but you have to boost the volume a bit during editing. What I would like is a way to clamp it onto my guitar or uke. I’m wondering why someone hasn’t invented a mic that can plug into a guitar’s 1/4″ cable socket. It could even record by direct input or mic input, or both. Seems like a no-brainer.

I thought the video/audio quality was great. Plus you played it great!

                    Thanks Steve,
I enjoyed the playing and the scenery!

Sounds great, Steve. Nice picking too. A tropical paradise in your backyard.

Nice experiment Steve and the results were certainly encouraging. What sort of connection did you have between the Zoom H1 and your camera/mobile phone?

Sweet location to shoot that Steve! Your new Uke sounds great too. Almost parlor size , and a cutaway! Oh, the audio along with the video were clean and sharp.
