Hello Everyone,
Im not sure if I’ve ever asked this question here several years ago, it still hasn’t been ansewered and I’ve only recently begun using (trying to use) this Casio HT-6000 Synth again.Hoping maybe someone new in the group may have some information about this gear.
The HT-6000 (no info found in all my online research) is a fun bit of gear and I’m using it to motivate young music students –
BUT it turns itself OFF after 5-8-10 minutes even while it’s being played!Any ideas???
I’ve tried to find a manual but they just seem to be non-existent!
There is a slot for some kind of “card” on the right hand side – maybe just a memory card but I’m not really sure. I don’t have that card and not finding that online either.
Some reviews indicate this was a valued synth “back in the day” – so I’m curious as to why there seems to be no info available.Any discussion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Marie“Laissez les bon temps rouler“

Hi Marie – I’d say if you can’t find the answer by doing a bunch of Googling, then you are doomed. But look on eBay or whatever and you can buy a used one for pretty cheap.

Hi Marie,
I just Googled “Casio HT-6000 manual” and got lot’s of links to pdf version.
I also Googled “Why does the Casio HT-6000 turn off by itself?” and got a few hits:

Hope these help!-

Michael,
Thank you so much for the links. Having followed these I was actually able to get a solution!! I found a post that suggested the problem with shutting off could be a result of the power adapter either ‘going bad’ or not being the original and being a mismatch.
The suggestion was to try loading batteries. I had no idea there was a battery compartment! It’s totally out of sight and must be found by turning the unit upside down – which I had never done. This was given to me -used- several years ago by someone who no longer needed it.I loaded the 6 “D” size batteries and now the Casio HT-6000 works beautifully!!
The young musicians I’m mentoring (ages 10 thru 13) really enjoy the synthesizer, now they won’t get shut out in the middle of their creations.
Thanks again Michael.
Cheers,
