Thanks Richard, I also use SoundSlice since that’s my only option but I prefer GP, especially when I’m offline. I just thought if Brian was using GP to write his lessons he might post them in GP format. Does SoundSlice have a free app and can Brian’s lessons be downloaded?

That question has been asked before. Brian does write the tabs in Guitar Pro but the last time we checked he didn’t think it was a good idea to post the gp files online.
I also use the Guitar Pro on a daily basis and if I need a tablature I simply write it all there manually. Yes, it’s a process at first but you get better at it and it’s not that hard after a few times. I do that with older lessons and other resources that only have a pdf file as well as for my own compositions.

Thanks Jola, I’m not good at writing tab in GP but I guess I will get good at it. 😜
I wonder why Brian doesn’t want to post the GP files? Maybe I’ll try emailing him but I hate to bother him. I Googled half the day yesterday trying to find a way to convert Brian’s PDF to something GP would import but it doesn’t work too well (or at all for me).

Aside from being a skilled musician and an instructor Brian is also a smart businessman. He gives away a ton of material for free but in order to stay in business (aka pay the bills and continue to entertain us) he needs to be guarded when it comes to assets available only for paid members. Some people sign up only for a month and what would stop them from downloading all the gp files from the site and share them with friends?

I understand Jola. I am more than happy to deal with online only practicing to protect Brian’s assets. They are extremely worth it!
Jean-Michel, I found that anything that converts a PDF or MP3 does a poor job and will require a lot of notation adjustment. Even converting to a MIDI was no good. It just wasn’t worth it. I’ll just have practice online using SoundSlice.
I wasn’t complaining…was just seeing if there was a way to use GP which I prefer.
