Hi everyone,
Here is my version of “Ball and Biscuit” by the White Stripes.
Basically garage rock meets 12 bar blues so this could”nt be further up my street if it was sleeping under my bed.
He”s known for single coil guitars, and I did try this with both a Tele and a Strat, but it just kept sounding far too thin no matter what I did to the settings – probably cause I don”t have huge watt Fenders cranked to full volume – so in stepped Mr Leslie Paul with some much needed humbucker muscle to save the day. I added a Bass track to bulk it further.
I’m also using my new Digitech Whammy for the solos and I did want to add fuzz, but it would have been near impossible to toggle between clean, dirt, and the whammy on a single guitar track so I kept it on the red
channel throughout.Needless to say I had an enormous amount of fun putting this together but I doubt my neighbours will agree!
I hope you enjoy this one as much as me and as always, my never ending thanks for watching.
Liam.

Sounds like you picked the right guitar, Liam. Too bad about the fuzz, would have liked to hear that. Lots of muscle, nonetheless, nice work Liam.

Hahaha, my Bose speakers could barely produce those bridge pickup high frequencies! Those were right up there with squealie frequencies, without having to do an actual squealie. Well played, I loved it!

Whoa, what a huge sound you created here! Great playing, Liam! Loved that solo with playing high and low on the neck with a massive sound☺️🎸.
Adding the bass guitar gave it another dimension👍👍.
The timing with the track was absolutely perfect.
Loved the added whammy.
It’s obvious how much fun you had with it😃. Love it!I want that shiny gold LP guitar, it’s such a beauty!!!

Wow Liam! You’re really rocking it here! 🤘👏🤘 It’s loud, it’s mean, it’s your best video yet (and you’ve posted a lot of great ones). I love your sound from your LP, your bass work, video transitions, the ‘body moves’ to the music, the works. About to go back for another listen. All the best! 🥸🎸🎼🎸🥸

I really enjoyed that performance Liam and, yeah, I can see how that might cause trouble with neighbors :). Great that you have padded room for playing in – I always have to use hard learned recording tricks to play through my FocusRite with headphones on but, for some things, you just can’t beat playing loud.
Interesting what you say about your Strat versus Les Paul. So true. I love both my Squire Strat and my Guild Firestar but, for stuff like this, you just can’t beat good ‘ol humbucker pickups.

Wow, I agree with Garry, this is your best work so far, Liam! Impressed by both your guitar and bass parts! Don’t know the original song, but for me you played it extremely well, not a single note out of place, in perfect sync with the drums track (and I guess it’s not an easy job), great feeling and tone, and those leads on the last frets with the fast ending tremolo were crazy! Wonderful classy rendition!
