Hi AM friends!
This is my 12th submission in a row and I feel so grateful for all I’ve learned so far thanks to Brian’s lessons and to your comments, suggestions and encouragement in the challenges!
For this challenge I’ve taken the piece I had prepared last month, changed the rythm to make it smoother and added an additional final part with some F#dim7 as passing chord (as I had learned from Brian’s lessons on diminished chords), and then a G# and A# to come back to the C chord at the end… I don’t know the theory behind (maybe some sort of ascending progression?) but it sounded good to me.
Have a nice challenge weekend!

Congrats on your 12 in a row! Sounds like t-shirt time. Nice playing with a lot of chords and fill licks in there.
Be kind to yourself (especially when you're trying to play this instrument!)

So glad you posted that gritty piece Serena, you played that with a certain amount of panache and your confidence gained over the months has paid off. Just out of interest, If you put a drum track behind that, it would lift it to another level.

Way to rock Serena! Cool arrangement, played with confidence and expertise. You pulled the arrangement together nicely with tasty licks and phrasing. I like the dirty overdrive.

Nice driving rhythm with great licks in between chords. And the guitar tone is really suitable for this. I enjoyed listening to it. Congrats on your 12th submissions. Well done.

Nicely done, with an impressive pace and fluency showing itself. Being more of a visual/trial and error learner myself I fully get the theory bypass!

A year in — congratulations! I wouldn’t have expected G# and A# to get you back to C, but somehow you made it work. This little piece hung together very well as you raced up and down the neck.

Such an energetic performance — watching your leg/foot bounce with the rhythm put a smile on my face. There’s a rock ‘n roll star in there just begging to be let free! No easy task covering the amount of real estate on the fretboard at that tempo, but you did it! The hard work is paying off, for sure!

Congratulations, Challenge Champion Serena! 😊
This was your best performance yet. Incredible how fast you improved (and you were already good when starting with the first submission).
We are glad to have you with us. Onwards to the next 12 challenges 😊👋🏽Bluesige Grüße

Ciao Serena
Congratulations on your 12 months of challenges, it seems like yesterday when you took part in your first challenge. I too, like you, have had the opportunity to understand the use of IV # dim and to use it in a composition. I agree with the change of pace you have entered and the transitions work well too.Livio

Hi Serena:
You dialed in a very nice sound and played your composition with great timing and note articulation. Your phrasing on riffs was so good even at a fast tempo. Congrats on completing your 12th challenge – it’s fun to consider what the next 12 will bring. We’ll done.
Cheers, Tom
