  Bobby UTZ, Dave Keil, David Todd and myself convened at my place Friday night for some Active Melody Steel City Yinzer jamming. We played from about 7:30 pm-midnight with a break or two for pizza, adult beverages and fellowshipping. We are all native western PA boys, Bobby now living in Denver CO but makes the quarterly jaunt to the ‘Burgh to rock out… here is what happened.

  Congratulations to my ‘Burgh Brothers for Steeler’s win over the Browns. It hasn’t happened yet (9AM Sunday), but it’s gonna happen, so don’t you guys worry. Man you guys are having fun. Good playing and real people having real fun and no F****** masks. Reminds me of pre-Covid days. Thanks for sharing, and I’d love to see more. I bet the more Ahrn City Bars you had the more the volume went up.

  Had an absolute blast with these yinzers! Bobby sounds awesome on this song! Can’t wait for the next one. Ralph… not sure I’m as confident as you, but I think the Stillers will pull it off tonight.

    Yeah Dave, I think you’re right. The Browns are too inconsistent and don’t know how to play 4 quarters. They’ve definitely come a long way, but the Steelers (especially Ben) have too much playoff experience.

  Ha ha to Ralph’s point yes the volume went up…. my prediction is Steelers will win by 13 points but have to forfit next week b/c too many of their players will have gotten Covid from the Cleve Brownies!!

    Hey John, Yinz lucky you didn’t get the powlice called on yinz for ‘sturbin the piece. (I’m workin’ on lernin’ sum Yinzer talk). You guys looked like you were having the most fun you can have with pants on. I think you’re right about the Steelers. It all depends if Big Ben has a good game. As a Browns fan I’ve always had to have a back-up team, and Green Bay is my back-up and they’re looking really good this year. Hey, we’ll trade you OBJ for Chase Claypool.

  Tooooo Much Fun being had – Adult beverages and Guitars. Quoting my brother-in-law, ‘It Don’t Get No Better Than That’. Some real stellar playing guys, great lead work and vocal – solid rhythm and some real nice Bass licks. I actually have a couple of shirts like those and I figure after a few hours of playing I could have sneaked in and no one would have noticed. I’m a long time Steeler fan going all the way back to Bradshaw and Hanratty days. I am also a long suffering Redskins fan and of course a Ravens fan. I believe the Steelers and Ravens will rise to the top today. Thanks for videoing – a real treat for all of the AM ‘ers.

    Yes Steve,
    We practiced virtually. Dave and I live and hour and a half away from each other. My brother lives ten minutes from me. So yes, we had some time to work on a list of tunes.

  Fantastic lads! Great to see everyone’s smiling faces. Music was damn good too. Hey, I’ve got one of those red and black shirts too. What does that mean? Also I’m here in Oz watching the news and the Browns have actually made the Australian news with their big win and American Football very rarely gets a mention so this must be big! All the best!
