Hello Everyone,
I’m Jeff, I just joined ActiveMelody. I’ve been playing for years but always chords. This is my first attempt at lead.
It sucks lol, but I’m still happy with it for a first go. It was also my first try at home recording. I bought a USB mic that I have in front of my Spark amp. Recorded with Audacity in Linux. I have some background buzz but I think I’ve fixed it.
Not going to re-record though. It is what it is 🙂 Onto the next lesson.

Thanks for the nice comments, Lights and Roger!
Billy, it should record from the USB but the volume is so low it’s pretty much useless. Maybe it’ll be fixed in an update someday.

Jeff, excellent playing and I thought the recording was very very good. Nice and clear and the tone on your guitar is killer.

Thanks Clarke, it’s my first “tone” I made on my modeler amp. I’ve not had any experience with pedals before this.
There’s a bit of compression, delay and reverb. I just added a tiny bit of a noise gate for removing the slight background hiss.

Yes that is a very good first post you have played the lesson through very convincingly; congratulations. You would not expect a digital transfer like USB to have a volume issue as such, could is perhaps be hiding in a setting somewhere. Maybe the FAQ for the amp if you have not checked it out just a thought.

Hello JStrat,
Maybe people with this amp have the same problem. I’ve looked around my system but it seems like all the levels for the interface are already turned up.
