Yesterday I realized that I’d never heard a song with the name “Steve” in it. So I Googled “songs with the name Steve in them”, and found a website called ranker.com which lists songs with various names. And to my great surprise, there are 20 songs which have Steve, Steven, or Stephen in the lyrics. The most popular is “Steve McQueen” by Sheryl Crow, which I’d never heard before. I am enlightened.
How about you – does your name show up in any song lyrics?

That is a fun song. I love that Sheryl Crow song also. I think her cd is my favorite for driving through the canyons in SoCal. Don’t do that as much these days.

It seems like there are lots more songs with women’s names in the lyrics or title, than men’s names. Why would that be? Also, I would say only about 5% of AM members are women, if that many. What does it all mean? Are men mainly creating music to impress women, while the women just sit back and listen? I have an image of a Spanish troubadour standing below the woman’s balcony and serenading her, like “Oh lovely Maria, I dream of you every night”.

Plenty of lyrics with Richard in them but couldn’t find any song titles.

Obviously, “Johnny B. Goode”. I was less enthused about “The Spontaneous Combustion of John” by the Flaming Lips.

Theres a thing, only a small percentage of registered forum members are regular contributors, I dont profess to know how many registered forum members there are on AM or what the total of those are Ladys, all i can say for certain is thats its good to see the girls showcasing their music.
Come to think of it, whatever happened to Debora who was a frequent poster?...Billy..

Yeh, Debora started off as a beginner, and was getting pretty good by the time she vanished. Maybe she ran off with a circus performer, or became a spy, or joined a Tibetan Buddhist monastery high in the mountains of Tibet.

I know the The Killer’s came out with ‘Andy you’re a star’ but if there was anything biographical in that, their tongues must have been firmly in their cheeks!!
Whenever Challenge deadline day is approaching, The Cranberries “Desperate Andy” is far more appropriate!
