This song is fun to play. Its a blues song not in any 1-4/5 format. Its, I don’t know what you call it, but a nice grouping of 7th and Minor chords , that repeats. The song has a chorus, but its the same chord pattern throughout.

Is this type of song called something? And, any know if similar blues songs?

          Jeff,
It is still an 8 bar blues in C but it utilizes a whole bunch of secondary dominant chord substitutions and a diminished chord to give the progression all kinds of movement.

For some reason the chords remind me a bit of Arlo Guthrie’s “Alices Restaurant”.

                Jeff,
Without being too specific, a lot of Brian’s recent acoustic ‘ragtime’ lessons have this same feel. Whether they are solo pieces (finger-style) or have solos to accompany they to my ear they are remarkably similar. I have fallen in love with this genre. Scope out all of Brian’s ragtime acoustic lessons. You might find something that fancies your interest.
