I tend to think of everything I learn in terms of how it relates to CAGED shapes. Anyone have any tips on either Brian lessons or other resources which specifically relate, for example, major and minor double-stops to the CAGED shapes? Thanks

          Mike,
My approach to learning double-stops CAGED is through specific solo and rhythm lessons that Brian teaches. I have gravitated towards this approach because it works for me. I don’t have a map (I am sure there is one just Google) but if you look at the genres of guitar music that utilize double stops (country, rockabilly, rock and roll etc. etc.) there are gazillions of applied approaches in specific songs. Check out these and you will find how to use certain double stop licks in context.

This is kind of my strong suit and if you need any help or other advice just reach out.

            Mike,
You might have to watch this 2 or 3 times but it is full of amazing ideas if you can bear with it. It shows how to harmonize leads with so many different ways of producing tension and creating resolution with harmonized 6ths and double stop 5ths. I don’t think I’ve seen Brian present the material quite like this.

Great video charjo. It’s the same chord shapes Brian is teaching
in lesson 356. Brian is focusing on the major triads and
connecting them to the major and minor pentatonic scales
and Guthrie is braking them down into double stops.

The two lessons complement each other really well.
              Thanks for posting the video.

@ Mike B down load the pdf files in lesson EP356 and mark the
Root 3rd and 5th on the chord shapes Brian is using.
If you play the Root and 3rd you’ll have the double stop
Guthrie is using up and down the neck.
