I just want everyone to introduce to, in my opinion one of the greatest newer guitarists out there, Isaiah Sharkey. He’s playing a lot with John Mayer. You will like him, because he has his roots in Blues, Gospel, R&B and Jazz.

To showcase his unique style and touch, I would like to show this clip, which is a recording of a jam session in a jazz club, also with John Mayer. The goodness (imo the Blues Solo) starts at around 15:45.

He also gives some insight on his style in YouTube videos, that have an instructional character. Although most of his stuff goes over my head. I think it’s worthwile to take a look at this guy, and keep his name in mind, when looking for inspiration on laid back jazzy, gospel and bluesy stuff. I just wanted to share with

This is over the top cutting edge stuff. Way cool! Thanks for sharing. I’m hearing some Joe Cocker “Feeling Allright” or something like that in this. Really fun.

            Benedikt,

Thanks for the post, I can see that Isaiah Sharkey is a very able guitar player but compare your videos with say my link here and this second is where I hear the blues, not in the clips.

I hope you like this as I see the juxtaposed phrasing if that ts the way to put it as ‘O so powerful in the Blues and this is a masterful rendition.
