I want to share something I think is really valuable; two chord backing tracks for practice. I’m attaching some noodling in C major. I used a 3 note per string scale shape and some double stop patterns to improvise, no charge for the timing and note choice mistakes. I found it helpful to find which notes I could rest on and which I had to move off. It is also simple enough to allow you to use your ear to seek out a next note. It could be more interesting if I went on to some higher register scale positions. The same track could be used to practice triad chord voices of the two chords. The next level would be to try to use chord tones of each chord out of their arpeggio shapes, this is really interesting in something more distinctive and out of key, like a i-V7 track. I won’t post here but if anyone is interested, I have found a nice group of two chord tracks on YouTube, just PM me.

Great idea John. That was a pretty noodling session you had. I think I might have heard one misplaced note but for the most part it sounded great. I think this would be a great exercise to practice playing the pentatonic (or major scale) on one string also. I think I’ll take you up on your offer for those YT tracks. I’ll PM you. Thanks for sharing.

              Ivan,
Yep there were a couple of mistakes but the track was just for illustration. You’ll have to friend request me first in order to be able to PM me.

That was ģreat listening, tbh I didn’t pick up on any wrong notes as it all blended seamlessly to my ear
I like the idea of simplistic backing tracks of 2 chords, sometimes BT’s have too much going on in them which muddies things..

Very nice expression in your playing, John.

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete
