This Monday afternoon I drove home from a long day in the office. I put some music on and that’s when I heard the song Anywhere by Passenger. The song put a big smile on my face and I immediately wanted to learn the electric guitar part. I really dig the acoustic songs of Passenger such as Let Her Go and Hearts on Fire and those are great songs to learn some great fingerpicking with a capo high up on the fretboard. I never heard the song Anywhere before but man what a happy intro with that electric guitar. It reminds me of some Paul Simon music during the Graceland period. Definitely some influences of African guitar. It’s only 3 chords G-C-D but used very effectively. I learned the guitar part earlier tonight and I found an instrumental on Youtube to play over. I found it easier to fingerpick this guitar riff than to play with a plectrum. I could have stopped earlier but kept going for a little while! Hope you like it! Brian, maybe an idea to have an EP on African guitar styles?

That was way too cool. Great playing.

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Andre, thank you for sharing the good, sunny vibes! 🙂 This is a great, contagious riff indeed, and the song (which I’ve just discovered thanks to you) is bound to put a smile on your face!

              Cheers

                Andre,
That is a great summer time, good vibes sound for sure! I am going to have to check out Passenger, sounds cool. Are they jam bandish? Sure sounds like it from this… which is great! Fantastic playing man!
