Brian, Thanks for the easy lesson this week. I have been feeling somewhat overwhelmed the past few weeks and will find the break from a “macro” lesson very refreshing. I am also looking forward to your support videos. For those of us who feel we have plateaued, those will hopefully help us through it.

One suggestion I have, if there is any way you could ever work it into some sort of lesson: What is your procedure for putting together a melody for the week? How do you start it? How do you decide where you’re going with it? Is there a lot of trial and error as you work through it? I think it would be good to know how a master melody maker’s creative genius works.

Awesome, Brian! Thank you for reviving Microlessons, although this one seems long enough to be a full lesson, doesn’t it 😉 Love the camouflaged Arlo behind the pillow throughout the whole time 🐶😆

Gotta say it again – Yay for the return of Micro Lessons! Just a suggestion – what about alternating – Macro Lesson one week and 2 Micros the next week?

(don’t you hate people trying to tell you how to run your site lol)

    Go Arlo!

Congratulations Brian ! I have been a member since 2013 and I always enjoyed your style of teaching and the material you create. Some of your earlier lessons like EP017 and EP031 are all time classics for me which I am drawn to practice time and time again. Thank you for this micro lesson. And all the best for the next 100 with all the fresh ideas you talked about in your video.

    Brian-
Congratulations on the milestone and the fact that you consistently put out a great product each and every week. Sure, there are times when you get sidetracked on some particular point but it is done with the intention of sharing a deeper bit of information we can use—-it is a “Brian” moment and longtime fans know what I’m talking about. Love it!

    Two show ideas:
I see that banjo in your room! I don’t own one, but if you started a basic course I’d buy one. Can’t imagine there would be a big audience for this, but there you go.

The other suggestion is a lesson on the art of really listening to where the band is playing when you are improvising a blues lead in a basic 1/4/5. I’m sure it has been covered in some manner, but I would like to reinforce the notion where you need to “land” when the changes occur.

By the way, I learned to fingerpick very well because of your lessons (keep at it everyone, it will come). I still impress friends from that Mark Knopfler lesson years ago—you said it is fun to play—-ain’t that the truth!

    Thanks for all you do.

Congratulations Brian from across the ‘pond’. You have inspired me with your enthusiasm and detailed teaching method to pick up the guitar again (I’m now approaching 75 – where does the time go!) and this has given me so much more confidence in playing. So congrats again and many thanks as when you are on ‘full screen’ it’s like having a ‘one to one’ lesson with you.

Hi, Brian…shooting a lesson in your home gives insight into who you are. I saw a resonator on your back wall, right? It would be absolutely AWESOME if you were to do a lesson on it. I have one but have never managed to get out of it what it has to give. You cold seriously help. Please? 🙂

    Thanx much,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,

Just going back through the microloessons. This is brilliant!

I love the T-bone Walker chord at the end! That reminds me of my all-time favourite lesson EP094!

You use the T-Bone Walker chord in that one: it’s beautiful!

    Cheers,

    Rich F.

I have been trying to play guitar for over 30 years with only limited success. You make those chord shapes appear so easy–perhaps for some, it must be. I’ve always blamed my fingers as being to “fat” to play effortlessly. I can make the G-chord slide easy enough but when I try to make the pinky reach out to play the back and forth notes, my third and forth fingers inevitably, roll over and mute the strings. This has been my dilemma for years, especially when I am trying to maintain the two string barre like the F-chord. You make it look so easy, yet I can’t seem to overcome this barrier. I do love your lessons, however–I just wish I could play them well enough to enjoy them.
