MicroLesson: 017 – Folk, Bluegrass Rhythm Guitar Lesson

Description

In this MicroLesson (ML017), you’ll learn how to play a classic bluegrass rhythm pattern. This includes picking out a simple melody line, while strumming the rhythm. You’ll play the same pattern (down, down, up) throughout the whole thing with your right hand.

I love this little melody . The tablature does not exactly matching the lesson . It shows G string on the upstroke for the C chord and lesson shows a B. Also the last 2 measures don’t matching what is played

Jeff, I just re-watched the on-screen tab viewer and everything there was in sync. Not sure what nuance you’ve noticed being off – maybe something in the explanation video was played slightly different. That does happen from time to time. Most musicians play things like this a little different every time they do it… so just look at it as you have 2 versions 😉

Brian do you have a favoured pick? What are you using here? I’m using a Wegan which would be about 1.2 but am finding it a bit large. My other preference is Dunlap Ultex 1. I’m using a Martin 0-28vs.

Cool little ditty, I have been on a country blues, and folk as in Dylan and the grateful dead kick this year. Thanks for your work
