Brian – great stuff. Going to continue your course as it is my goal to be able to see and improvise more quickly regarding where and what soulful feel is called for. Thanks and am also waiting for some slide lessons? – John J.

Another great lesson Brian. Thanks for the variety of these lessons. I do enjoy licks on the lower strings as well as licks that are not super intricate as it makes it easier to move them to new locations on the fretboard.

    Thanks a lot, Brian.

As for that part where you play two notes with two fingers (fifth, strings 4 and 5), I find it easier to roll my third finger over from the fourth string to the fifth, string or just bar the two strings.

Not quite sure what you are doing with the muting there but it will probably become clear when I have played the clip through a few times. Are just clipping just as you play the notes or muting immediately afterwards?

I would like to see you go all up the neck with these lower-strong patterns, if you get the tim,e and the same with the major penatonic scale. I say that for selfish reasons: I am working on the song You better move on (in E) and using lower-string major penatonic box patterns as fill-ins

Good idea to show it in G as it offers a better of idea of how to transpose all over the neck and even down to open E.

Way to break us out of the box! It’s a nice surprise to get lessons like this on such underutilized areas like the lower register. Awesome!

Another really fun one that’s not that difficult to get the hang of but is full of opportunities to improve technique. This could be used in conjunction with numerous songs of which That’s All Right Mama jumps into my head first.

Loving this one. Nice riff to fall back on from little lines. I would love to see more lessons just like this, a nice hook that is repeated with ideas on riffs to play with as well. I appreciate the simplicity as it helps me understand some of the concepts as well. The bottom three strings is a nice change of pace as well.

On the first part I think you made a mistake and said 4th string when you played the start on the third, other than that it sounds great!

Loving this one as well Brian. I’ve only just started trying it and I think with a bit more practice I will have it nailed.
I’ll be able to use some of the licks and turnarounds in other stuff I do as well.
