Sweet like candy. Might have to take the electric out of the closet with that tremolo pedal that’s packed in there. Been in there for a few years now. Inspiration has struck Brian, love the tune and your whole approach, and on the commercial side too, people like that, Your one of the good guys.

Thanks Brian. I need to get more control of my big fat sausage fingers. I not only bump unwanted strings but also mute strings unintentionally in certain chords. This may be just what the Dr. ordered.

Love this one. I’ve been bouncing around lesson sites forever now and have come to the realization that I always end up back here. So it’s some time to stop wasting time in other places and just enjoy this fine instrument and hone in on any one of your fine lessons.
The beauty of this site is that even if their is a lesson that I’m not particularly fond of, there is enough past material to keep on busy for years.
Glad I’m back and keep up the good work.

Brian, this lovely little tune is such a tonic relief to the head-banging situation we have here in Britain a.t.mo.

Basically, our Parliamentary system has broken down and all the politicos are fighting like ferrets in a sack. It has gone past the point at which there will not be some very sore losers. Those millions [but sadly 1.5 million too few] of us who did not want to leave the European Union are terrified that this will include a severe loss to the whole country for many years, if we do leave.

I can see why you got so many great compliments on this one, Brian. Those subtle gestures are certainly what identify great players. Your fingering is always interesting to me. As you point out, it’s critical to relate the scales to the chords, and when I saw you play the 5th string E with your 1st finger, I realized that we just finger the scales differently. I usually play the same E with my middle finger. The beauty of your melody line remains…I just changed the fingering slightly to line up with what I’m used to. I’m too old to change much ingrained fingering. Thanks for an especially great lesson.

Thanks Brian. I like the melody. More importantly, I like the way that you always bring together the theory behind what you are playing. On this lesson you focused on how this melody was incorporated into the D major scale. Then you went on to show how this scale can be played in C major by just moving down a whole step. Each time I work on one of your lessons, I learn something new and how that fits into the bigger picture.

I thought I needed sequential, packaged lessons. You teach so many elements in your lessons that I’m liking just jumping in wherever. I appreciate you always reminded us of how those CAGED patterns and scale patterns are built in. In this lesson, the artistry of letting notes ring to enhance that haunting feel is something I wouldn’t have realized. While I can’t put ten hours a day in (like I’d like), chipping away is making a difference.

    Thanks Brian!

Is it just me or is there lots of Bill Frisell vibe in this? He’s the king of single coil and trem in the slow control mode, lots of sustained notes ringing. Thanks so much Brian for getting this one in there. Trem is my favourite sugar, which I tend to use almost always. Really swampy. The Mark Bartel amp I use has the sweetest Trem built in.

    Hey Brian
I can’t be the first to mention this about your Tab Viewer. The looper doesn’t work and when you highlight the tab you can only highlight a page at a time not hold the button and scan down so the whole tab is highlighted. When it is highlighted, using the side bar,to move down a couple of lines at a time, when the song has played, the looper returns to the fourth line while the music starts from bar 1.Geeze…..

So much so I became a bit emotional that I could make my guitar sound like that. I can’t believe it. I played it for my wife and she thought it was lovely. 🤩 Thank you. 🤝
