Description
In this week’s guitar lesson, you’ll learn to play both a blues lead and a percussive fingerstyle rhythm. The MP3 jam tracks allow you to fill in either part, a great way to practice!

Hi Brian, seems to be a hiccup with the part one video.
Part two is being played.
oops, Brian I got 2 part 2 videos , they are both the same video
fixed – sorry about that!
👍
Yup see above lol
yes i got the same
Brian, Another great one.Don’t know how you just keep turning out all the great lesson’s you do. I just keep looking for Friday’s lessons Keep up the good work. Thanks for all you do.
Dave
I can see myself enjoying playing this tune. Thanks Brian
This is gonna be a lot of fun to follow Thanks another good arrangement 😁
Hi Brian, another Great lesson, but it is strange that the Rhythm and Lead are at two different tempos.
It’s an error. The rhythm tempo should be = 120
Wow !!! This lesson is just full of great information Brian.
Hi Brian. Thanks for that lesson. I love those lessons, in which you can learn both the lead and the rhythm part! This goes directly to the (unfortunately still very long) list of must-learn lessons. Great! 👍🏽👍🏽😊👋🏽
If I can get this tune down, I’m sure it will stick with me for the rest of my life. It’s very, very cool!
Thank you Brian!
Guthrie plays the most melodic stuff. But I ha to buy one of those Vidami video controller pedals just to slow him down enough to figure out what he was actually doing.
Home Run!!!!!
Thank you.
Love the licks on the lead–and really having fun with the rhythm….always good to have some rhythm lessons! Thanks Brian
Just finished the lead lesson. It was great and thank you for putting in the tab music above your fretboard. It sure is helpful. Now on to learn the Fingerstyle Rhythm.
Thanks Brian
Ray P
I just finished the rhythm lesson. That was great Brian, it really helped me how to better apply the rhythm to the lead.
Thanks again
Ray P
Just got back home to find a nice lesson waiting! Love that you include the lead and rhythm .
Thanks Brian
I got drunk coming home last night…
Thanks Love the rhythm part I can use whatever tempo I choose. The gospel quick change 1 4 1 nice little spice I say.
There is so much wonderful guitarmanship (if that’s a word) in this week’s gem-thanks again Brian.
Great lesson. What looping device to you use?
Hi Brian. Any chance of having a beginner video or shorts or short course on harmonic you played on the 12th fret, sounds pretty sweet.
I just wish I could keep up, but this is a 75 year old Scottish highlander trying to improve very poor guitar skills! Love your lessons best guitar teacher I have seen’ so definitely something wrong my end. Small person , small hands so some of your techniques seem to be beyond me! keep up the great work, many will be enriched, best to you and your family.
What a GREAT rhythm Brian – really cool !! Love the groove ! Thanks !
Brian, I like the percussive fingerstyle rhythm portion on this one. I’ve been looking for lessons that blend rhythm with lead. Thanks!
Brian – A whole lot of info in this lesson that needs digesting bit by bit. It seems to me , the most frequent key that comes up in a ” picking-session ” is G, so one could take a solo/break using the one position and do OK. As time goes on – add the next and so on. A real kickstart lesson to impro., that I wish I,d had years ago. Thank you once again. Tony
H Brian. EP484 Rhythm Tablature PDF has the tempo = 90. Should be = 120.
Brian, what a great lesson, as always. That tele is such a sweet sounding instrument. I’ve seen it in a number of your videos and am sort of coveting it, but cannot make out the headstock. What is it?
Thanks! BrianU
Ahhh… I figured it out… Danocaster. Beautiful sounding instrument. Thanks again for the lesson.
I was thinking i need to move forward in two areas to expand my skills, start learning fingerpicking style and using my loop pedal to play rhythm and lead.
I found this. Perfect.
Hard but perfect, expanding my skills
