Description
Rhythm guitar lessons seem to be somewhat overlooked in online guitar instruction and yet they are extremely important. I think most people assume that rhythm guitar is for beginners, but if you are ever in a situation where you’re playing rhythm in a band (or even on your own), you’ll quickly realize how critical it is to know different ways to voice chords and to have rhythmic variations that you can resort to. This lesson takes an upbeat funk / blues song and demonstrates three very different approaches to how you might play a rhythm guitar part. The lesson is 40 minutes and goes into depth on how these rhythm parts were developed. Also included is the jam track (versions include the rhythm track for all three, and a version without the rhythm so that you can play along). Tablature is included as well.

Brian, this is really a great lesson, thanks! For me a good exercise for increasing my velocity and improving timing, again, it’s a lot of fun.
Anybody out there also wanting to comment this lesson? Too long ago for being noticed by most of us?
Glad you like it 🙂
great job!
Thanks Brian, I’ve been after a rhythm guitar lesson like this for ages. It’s enabled me to jump around and put together rhythm parts across many octaves. I actually get it.
