Description
This is the final part in the jazz 3 part mini-series. In this lesson I will show you how to play the rhythm part. I’ll walk you through the fingerings on each of the chords as well as a detailed explanation of the strum pattern played with the right hand. This lesson also includes muting techniques used when making chords as it relates to muting specific strings so that you can do a full strum, but not get a sound out of specific strings. If you haven’t watched the first to parts be sure to do so as they show you how to play the solo.

Lesson one should be the Rhythm part and please identify the chord name in the tab. This is a great lesson but learning the lead parts before understanding the chord changes is not a great idea.
Problem PDFs is second lead party should be rhythm part
Where is the tab for the rhythm part?
Hey Tom - the rhythm Tab is added now. Sorry - good catch!
Spotted by Ben on 1 of Febuary a reply would have been niece
Sorry Ben, wasn’t ignoring - I just missed it!
Thanks Brian
I just revisited this beautiful light jazz melody.. I knew every chord by name but you should of identified these 7th chords above tab measures..sure is sweet number!
This was a great lesson Brian, thank you. It is interesting to see how many improvements you have made to the website since its fledgling days. I love the variety of styles you present each week. I have been looking for something on the use of “octaves” ala George Benson or Wes Montgomery.
Where are Parts 1 and 2? Thanks.
I love this site— even gje early lessons. For this one some people might prefer chord names to supplement the tab. For anyone that cares and doesn’t want to rewatch the video the chords I order are:
Gmaj7 Abdim7 Am7 D7 Am7 D7 G G7 Cmaj7 Cm7 G E7 Am D7 G D7 and repeat.
You are correct, and I edited the PDF accordingly. Thanks.
Plus there is an error in bar 13, the fingering shown is wrong for the A-minor.
It’s the fingering for the Amin7 and not the Amin.
Thanks Robert Rays. I was just about go back through the video to write down all the chord names on the tab I printed. Then I saw your comment with the work already done. Much appreciated!
Sorry for the typos— no way to edit and fix from what I can find.
The tab for the rhythm has an error in bar 13.
The fingering for the A-minor is wrong, what is there is the fingering for the Amin7.
Not that I want to be a pain, but……
I love this site and your work.
