You would not be the first who shows up in a pyjama, Brendan. It would be great, if you can make it happen.

I’ll have to drop out of this one this time. Just bagged a couple of last minute tickets to a local Jazz festival for Saturday. Will hope to make the next one. Have fun everyone.

My apologies Manfred. I’d love to join but the 4am start is difficult for me down under in Oz (Australia) and also we have our 20 month old granddaughter staying here tonight and I can’t risk waking her. I would not be popular! Again, I commend you for this initiative and wish you all every success for this get together. Fingers crossed I can join next time! 😎🎸😎

I’ve added a reminder to my calendar, but there’s an outdoor art festival today at the same time that my wife is hoping to attend.
If it’s sunny, I’ll be at the festival. If it’s rainy, I’ll be on Zoom!

Hi everyone.
Firstly, thanks to Manfred for putting forward my suggestion about incentives for the showcase part of the forum.
I managed to watch a little bit of the replay and it seems there was some confusion over that suggestion that I’d like to clear up – I was absolutely NOT suggesting we hold competitions based on ability – I am acutely aware that that would be a very bad idea and it is just not what this site is about.
I was making the suggestion that we incentivise more participation on the showcase forum by having competitions like how many posts you do comments you leave etc with maybe a monthly prize at the end or something else.
I agree with what Andre said in that the reason a lot of people don’t post on the showcase is the lack of feedback but I’m also aware that to get something like that going we would need to appoint someone to run it. Brian is just way too busy to be bothered with that I suspect.
Anyway, I hope that clears up my thoughts and I apologies if I offended anyone. Not my intention at all.
Liam.

Thanks for the clarification, Liam. I think no one has been offended by your suggestion. It‘s good that a discussion is started about that and we will see, if something can be implemented. But without someone who runs it, it will not work.

I don’t think there was any offense taken Liam. It was a good idea but I don’t know how it would be implemented. I know I am always open to doing a duet with anybody as long as they understand I am relatively a beginner guitarist compared to a lot of others here! I enjoy the forums very much and tend to post a lot myself because I’m always interested in getting good feedback to help me make progress in learning guitar.
