I know that not many work with a mixer, but there are still some who will and will have experience with it.
I bought the XR18 mixer three months ago.
I was actually happy with my Allen & Heath ZED60-10FX; everything worked pretty well. When I became aware of the XR18, I dealt with it.
Three things were particularly interesting for me. Firstly, it is much smaller than my test person, secondly, it offers quite a few options for controlling signal paths and thirdly, multi-track recording.
In addition, I can create presets that I can call up on the MP depending on requirements and prefabricated settings. Even I finally understood the routing, which is very easy to handle with this MP.

My different settings that I call up via presets are for example:
Backing track and guitar only on the phone.
Backing track on the monitor boxes, guitar sound through the amp on the cab.
Backing track on the monitor boxes, acoustic guitars on the XR18 on phone.
The options for which signal should now be sent to the DAW and the possibility of multi-track recording are very flexible.
I have not yet dealt with the effects since I am not currently working with them; at best, when I go straight into the XR18 with the guitar and listen on the phone; then I put some delay or reverb on the signal.

Notes, experiences and opinions are very welcome. I am at the beginning. Thanks!

A very nice bit of kit Wilfried. looks like you have lots of advantages here. I am sure you will make full use of it soon enough. Its the sort of thing that can really add polish to a performance I have no doubt and its wireless interface is ideal.

Yes John, of course I also trust those who show the advantages of such equipment. I can understand some things, but not many things yet. I know I have to deal with it. Some of the advantages that have been demonstrated have been confirmed.
I still have to learn to deal with others. Thanks!

Thanks John-sunburst; in the end it is curiosity and fun in technology for me. I like to deal with such things.

My band uses an XR18 for our PA mixer and I had eventually figured out how to live record our entire band through this as an interface to my DAW. I’m sure there are more advanced wireless mixers out there but this is feature-packed and reasonably priced. As with most things, way more feature-packed than I’ll probably ever be able to tap into. I do want to get a good handle on adding effects to vocal channels… Doubling, reverb, delay, chorus, etc. I’m pretty much still a novice with this.

All that aside, for what you pay for it, this would make a great interface for anyone. Of course one could go smaller and do an XR12 (fewer channels).

Hi Mark, it should be the XR18 because you can record multiple tracks via USB. This interface is pretty comfortable. Sure, there are many options that I certainly don’t need all of them. Thanks
