I put this together a while ago, thought I’d share. Two guitar tracks, one vocal, and a Djembe drum. I was using a Tascasm DP-03 to record it. Wish I had hung on to it as it was easy to copy and paste, which the Zoom R8 doesn’t have. I’ve been working on another lesson for a while, and finally have the ending completed so will share soon. A simple dreadnaught Mitchell guitar here, still have it – plays well for an inexpensive guitar. Thanks for listening.

Excellent cover Chuck! Both the instrumental parts and your vocals are jus brilliant, and an excellent audio mix too. Your voice has just the same range and depth of Cat Stevens’ voice, and the guitar and percussion parts flawlessly played. Great job!

Thanks so much Guido, glad you enjoyed it. It turned out to be a good mix, and in addition to these lessons I’d like to do more of these kind of projects for sure.

Brilliantly played Chuck! Guitars, drum, vocals were all excellent. And the mixing was brilliant. I love playing Cat Stevens songs.

Thank you Joe, appreciate your listen and I as well really enjoy Cat Stevens always – maybe another one may be in the works if I can muster it up, but the next submission will definitely be a lesson which is overdue.

                  Sounds very professional.
                  Great mix and vocal.
Are you the one doing the vocal, very nice voice.
                  Well done.

Thank you Andre, yes I’m doing the vocal – I got into and out of karaoke about 12 years ago, but also sang in a band a long time ago.

Hi Chuck, same question as Andre there – this does not sound like Cat Steven’s voice so I am thinking it must be you doing the vocals on this.

All i can say is “Holly s**t you are even better than I thought you were”. Not only do you play guitar extremely well, you are just a darned talented singer too

As an aside, when I was a kid we would have school assembly every morning with an address by the headmaster – very British. At the end of his speech this beautiful lady would come out with a guitar singing “Morning has Broken” which is a beautiful song – I think that is when I first got the idea of learning the guitar.

Thanks Geoff, too kind. Yes I’ve done some singing. Sang lead vocals way back in Jr High School and we played for the school talent show. Have always done some kind of singing on and off just like with every other musical venture. I’ve got several hundred songs I did with karaoke, but only about 10 or so I was really satisfied with as my ear hears every note that’s off pitch. I did an acoustic version of Day in the LIfe by the Beatles, at some point I’ll see if I can put it on video. Thanks for the reply. I know that was a great experience with you hearing that song live by Cat Stevens, wonderful song.

Excellent, Chuck! Amazing how many AM members can sing so well. It’s a great mix, it all sounds really pleasant and professional. With all the benefits of today’s homerecording tools, I think the Tascam is doing all there is to be done. At least in this recording, I don’t miss anything.

Thank you Tremelow, yes good recorder and with today’s technology we can do a lot on our own with a little help. Missing that Tascam, it got some good workouts.

                                        Very impressive Chuck.

You have a great singing voice.

Only gripe was the lack of visuals for the fantastic acoustics and percussion playing.

                                        Loved it. Well done.
