To some of you folks out there who have been around music for the last 25 years or so have heard of Harvey Mandel and Walter Trout. Walter played with Canned Heat in the 80’s, and has had a successful solo act for many years. Harvey Mandel has been with Canned Heat, Charlie Musselwhite, Barry Goldberg, Harvey Brooks, and many many players. These two guys are in serious health right now. Harvey has just finished his chemo therepy treatments and is expected to recover in time. Walter Trout is having very bad liver problems. He is not looking so good right now. Canned Heat has been getting donations as well as some other people helping him out. Insurance or not, when you have life threatning problems it is not a fast healing process or cheap. When you say a prayer or something positive think of these two guys. They have brought new generations of fans to love music and pick up the guitar. Get well soon Harvey and Walter!!

fresnojohnsReally too bad that they are dealing with this. Its too late to say that they shouldn’t have lived hard in their younger day – IF in fact they did. Its just time to see them recover. Lets hope the best for both of them
