I must admit that this song brings back some memories of my carefree youth! These Rick Beato breakdowns are very interesting to me. There is a part of me that wants to learn to pay this (monkey-see, monkey-do) but also WHY it works and sounds like it does. Some of the theory is over my head but some of it is starting to make sense. Hope you enjoy it.

          Jim,

I have been watching some of these videos- at least the classic rock ones. It’s very interesting hearing the songs stripped down into the individual tracks. Not sure how he comes by these. In some cases, it seems as though the sum is much better than some of the individual components.

If anyone is interested in learning about chord substitutions, Beato did a recent video which I thought did a good job of explaining what can be a complex topic.

Thanks Bob. I missed the chord substitutions video but will look for it now. He really has some great theory lessons,
most are above my pay grade but that’s part of learning I suppose.

Jim, thanks for posting. One of my passions is understanding how my favorite songs go together. I may not always (or ever, for that matter) get each part right but I find it so fulfilling to figure some of this stuff out and make my own covers. Much of theory is way above my pay grade as well but breaking it down the way Rick Beato does makes it more understandable.

Looking forward to more of his videos, I’ve definitely subscribed!
