I’m playing a riff and I have a part where I need to pull off for one note then hammer back on for one note before pulling off again to end the riff with a different note altogether on another string, how do I stop that string sounding after the final pull off before plucking my final note? it’s almost like my finger sticks to the string and makes it ring out.

Unless you’re pulling off to an open string, just release the pressure on the string at the pull off fret and your fretting finger will mute it.
