Hearing site member Chuck P’s excellent cover of ‘Where Will the Child Play’. I remembered a song of ‘Cats’ I hadn’t played in a while. He always crafted his songs with simple chords, lovely melodies with meaningful lyrics. One of my favorite singer songwriters.

Absolutely beautiful James. As always, golden voice and solid, complimentary guitar accompaniment. Cat Steven’s, what a talent (as you are too of course)! All the best! 😎🎸😎

Beautiful rendition James, hits the spot. Have not heard this one before, mostly know his hits but so enjoyed this one, made possible by your talent.

Yes, Cat Stevens is one of the greatest songwriters. His music is so emotional and his lyrics are truly profound, intelligent, and credible. You bring his spirit to the stage in a wonderfully harmonious way with your guitar and vocals; your performance is a real highlight.

Beautiful rendition James, with a spotless finger picking and very soulful vocals! Yes, Cat Stevens/Yusuf composed some very nice songs with simple chords and great melodies and meaningful lyrics: I always appreciated him when I was young and learned some of his songs. If I remember well the original is in D, whereas you transposed it in F with the capo, I suppose to fit the song to your voice: something I’m doing very often, but in the opposite way because in many cases I’ve to lower the key 😅! Great job and enjoyed to listen to it!

Excellent finger-picking and wonderful, warm, rich vocals, James. Cat Stevens was a favorite of mine as well, and you honor him with your beautiful rendition. If you aren’t performing in public, you ought to be.

Thats really wonderful James.
I have always used nails for my classical stuff so I found it interesting how you had a pick on the thumb and just fingers for the rest. For some reason I thought steel strings were played with picks on all fingers if one was going to use them. Sounded great the way you were doing it though 😎

You really can’t go wrong with just an acoustic and Mr James Bundy telling the story.
Beautiful performance sir.
