First things first. I’m a 60+ individual living in India with drumming and guitar playing as my hobbies… my knowledge of electronics is very limited.
My Nux Loop Core pedal (gifted by a friend in the US) requires an adapter with the following specs –
Input: 100-240V / 50-60 Hz / 0.4 A
Output: 9V / 1.0 A Centre pin negative.I have a Zoom AD16E PSU adapter with the following specs –
Input: 100-240V / 50-60 Hz / 0.3 A
Output: 9V / 500 mA Centre pin negative.I also have a Boss PSA 230S adapter with the following specs –
Input: 100-240V / 50-60 Hz / 250 mA
Output: 9V / 500 mA Centre pin negative. My question is whether I can use either the Zoom or Boss adapter for the Nux Loop Core without ‘frying’ it!
Help!!!

Nirmal You have not stated AC or DC in the specs but power supply of the right voltage polarity AC/DC match and of enough current should be ok. I take it centre pin negative means DC but regulated or un regulated might be an issue

Thanks so much John.

The important thing is to match the outputs. There are three parts, polarity, voltage and amperage. Here, the amperage on the adapter is too low for the device. Fou things might happen:
The device might work perfectly, and you are good to go.
The device might work, but intermittently.
The device might not work at all
The device might draw too much current from the adapter and cause it to overheat, damaging the adapter.
There is little risk to the device, so it’s probably ok to try it, unless you are afraid of damaging the adapter.

Nirmal Just to be clear as Duffy reiterates the power supply must be .4 amps or more to properly satisfy your pedal. So the two that you mention do not give sufficient power.

Be aware what your house current source is.. In the United States, it is 120 volts, 60 Hertz. Europe is 230 Volt 50 Herts. From this chart I found, it shows that your country is also 230v 50 Hertz, so, an adapter made to use in the USA won’t work.

Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong.
