Sierra Hull is one of those child prodigies who became an expert mandolin player at an early age. Now she’s all grown up, and there is no doubt she is the best in the world. Check out how fast she plays dyad licks, among other things. And Cory Wong is said to be the best funk guitar player in the world. I’ve never seen Cory play an acoustic, so this was a big surprise to me. And I need to mention the bass player, who effortlessly plays super complex licks on the very highest frets of his bass. Seeing (and hearing) is believing:

She is unbelievable! So gooooood! Cory Wong is an excellent funk guitarist with some incredible rhythm chops as well as lead. I’ve seen him in some interviews and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Thanks for starting my day with the Wongnotes!

Nice post Steve!! Been watching Sierra Hull for quite some time now, but never saw Corey or the bass player before! The bass man is quite talented as is Corey from what I hear! A lot of pure talent on that stage for sure!!

Good find Steve, again I’ve watched and listened to Sierra Hull over the years and she is certainly one unique talented player. What I think set her apart on this number was the beautiful melodic and dynamic mandolin style she played.

I think she comes from a small town in Tennessee, maybe not far from AM headquarters. I’ve seen interviews with her, and she has a great personality, friendly, down-to-earth. The kind of person you’d like for a next door neighbor.

Man-I love this stuff. EVERYBODY is so sharp. I love the mandolin and guitar but can’t help but thinking the bassist had the best chops and tone. This is delightful.

Nice catch Steve! Cory and Sierra played all the wight notes! This queued up next on YT. Mark and Cory used to be in a band together. They are pretty incredible.
