Hi guitar friends, I get a little confused with Tabs sometimes. In this attachment, there is something I really don’t understand. The 3545 part. Could somebody give me a heads up on this please. I’m a vocalist and do a lot of things by ear, but I really think I need to use Tabs more.

          Hi Todd,
I assume this is 4/4 time. That represents either a G6 or E minor chord played starting in the the last half beat of the bar and held over 1 beat into the next bar. The “ties” holding the eighth note figure and the quarter note figure together mean you combine the two times. Hope that answers the question.

In other words you don’t strum the notes in parentheses, but let them ring from the measure before.

I’m not sure what you’re asking. If it’s the 3545 then those are the frets on each string you play…the 3545 looks like an Em/G or part of a Cmaj7 chord. Hope that helps.
