Hi all… I bought this Squier strat last week ( used, but in good shape and sounds great). Was checking it online and it says it’s a Aztec Gold Limited Edition. But not to much info. on it. The s/n: CY04024579. Crafted in China. From what I read online, they were made in 2003…..Anybody know anything about them, or were on the guitar would be the date? Thank you much for your time on this.

Your serial number reads C(china)Y(Yako)(Taiwan) and the 1st two digits denotes the year 2004 so certainly a crafted in china serial number.
I was trying to find some specs for your guitar to find out why it is a limited edition but there isn’t a lot of info out there.. Possibly just a limited edition colour.
lovely looking guitar ..HNGD, wish you health to enjoy..

Thanks Billy. I agree with you about it being a limited edition color. Aztec gold was hard to find online….A couple of friends of mine have the fender strats ( american and mexican crafted). But not in that color. They are jealous of the color :-)……Good… I was surprised for a low budget guitar, it sounded just as good as my friends. I’m just going to enjoy playing it.

Squiers are very very under rated IMHO, make sure she is set up properly( esp the pick up heights)to get the best out of your guitar.
I have seen Classic Vibe’s in that colour but that is the 1st affinity..

                  Vaughn,
Squier also has an Aztec Gold on the Bullet Strat. I bought one but then switched it out for a brown sunburst one. The Aztec Gold is a ” Limited Edition ” due to the color and no other feature.
Agree with Billy that the Squiers are underrated. I’m currently reading an interesting book by Tony Bacon on the Squiers called ” Squier Electrics “.
Enjoy your Strat and look forward to hearing it!
