Robert Cray & Hi Rhythm

Only a couple of weeks I heard about the album Robert Cray recorded with Hi Rhythm. It was released in April 2017, but I missed it somehow.

Well, I am a huge Robert Cray fan. Visited all the concerts he gave in The Netherlands the last 30 years. Even more, I found about Brian’s unsurpassed Active Melody site when searching for a decent Robert Cray tutorial (LEG028, March 11, 2010 😉).

So I would not call myself totally blank about his productions, but man what a great album this is! A superb collaboration with top of the bill musicians and song writers, and a fantastic producer boosted Young Bob to his highest singing and playing. That was great! I’m up and down on Robert Cray, usually not too excited, but that came together just right. They sound like the Hi Records band who backed Al Green and Ann Peebles, and they always sounded great.
