Haven’t been around much, I do a lot of outdoor things that are tiring for this old guy but I’m going to get back to work here again. I thought I’d share one of my favorite songs I did a cover of with 2 guitar tracks and my vocal. Vocal starts to go a little flat towards the end, but overall I’m good with it. It will be good to be involved again – I’ve missed being here, hope you enjoy.

That’s great Chuck! The guitar parts, the vocal harmonies and the recording itself show off your talents.
Good to see you back in action,

That was very good Chuck! Guitars, vocals, everything.

Top driving acoustic rhythm playing Chuck. Great vocals and harmonies also. All the best! 😎🎸😎

Wow, Chuck, I haven’t heard that song in forever. Looking it up, I can’t believe it was released in late 1969 by Marmalade with even a short reverse segment in the guitar solo. When I first heard your cover I thought the song had a Beatles sound and I think some of the chord structure is reminiscent of “A Day in the Life”.
Great acoustic playing and your voice is impressive. Kudos on those high parts in the chorus and the great harmonies.

Well, i for one, noticed your absence Chuck and I am glad you are back with that great singing voice and guitar playing of course 😀. This is excellent work 😎

Very nice two voice harmozing on this. When I listen i wish I had persevered with singing. It’s how I started out as a kid then my voice broke and I switched over to playing classical guitar 🎸.

Thanks Geoff, I’ve always done some singing but not on a regular basis. About 10 years ago I got into online karaoke which was fun, and it was good to sing again. Now I need to get back to the guitar again – and I will.

I must confess that it’s the first time I hear this song, but I have also to say that I loved it in your rendition Chuck! I’m really impressed by your guitar work and recording quality, but even more by your vocals! Your lead voice and your harmonies, they are beautiful! This song reminds me a bit of a Beatles’ style harmonies. You’ve a great voice and your singing technique is pro level!

Thanks Guido, I much appreciate your reply. Check out the original on Youtube, the chord progression never changes but it really works!

Yeah, the same chord progression for verse and chorus with different melodies, cool! I noticed you lowered the key from G to C, a fifth lower. Honestly, I don’t say it to please you, but really I prefer the vocals in your version, in a baritone range! Again, very well done.

I never liked the original, the strings really spoilt it and the whiney vocals, but now I realise it’s actually a very powerful song and your vocal and arrangement adds the gravitas it needs. Similarly, I think Marmalade’s live version 60 years later on Youtube is also a much better version.

I’ve just come out of hibernation too and also don’t have the energy and drive I once had. Still, Active Melody keeps on keeping on and is just what I need to get back into making music.

Loved it, Chuck. I like your version better than the original. Great vocal harmonies and the acoustics playing and recording is excellent. Play us another one soon.
